DESCRIPTION
“God of Glory” is composed as a contemporary paraphrased setting of Psalm 24. It is intended to capture the joy and hope of being called as God’s beloved people. While it can be sung without the harmonies provided, layering them in provides an enjoyable variety in timbre as the song progresses. This piece has a “soft boldness” to it, finding a middle ground between frenetic energy and hopeful prayerfulness. The verses were written for a tenor cantor, but are suitable for any voice with confidence in its written range.
