Douglas is a liturgical composer who resides in Hudson, Michigan with his wife and their three children. He currently serves as the music director at St. Mary on the Lake Catholic Church in Manitou Beach, MI. His goal is to compose music that is worthy of the liturgy and is imbued with the spirit of Gregorian chant yet suited to contemporary sensibilities. Douglas gratefully acknowledges the input he has received on his compositions from Luke Mayernik; Fr. Ricky Manalo, CSP; and Dr. Gerald Custer. He is also grateful to have studied Gregorian chant with Fr. Columba Kelly, OSB. Douglas holds a bachelor’s degree in piano performance from Hillsdale College, a master’s degree in piano performance from Michigan State University, and a master’s degree in music theory from Michigan State University.
