Written for the Advent season but can also be used at the end of the liturgical year or any occasion of hope, comfort or the kingdom of God. Basically, a hymn form with two additional verses (different melody) that can be sung by a soloist or choir. The last line of each hymn verse is “Embrace us with your love.” which assemblies can easily sing even without a worship resource. The musical blending of minor and major tonalities helps portray the yearning and longing of our spiritual journey as well as the hope that God’s embrace provides. Works nicely as a unison hymn but 2-part harmonies and a descant are provided. You will receive the piano/melody edition, the guitar/vocal edition (which includes the harmonies) and a re-printable hymnal-sized assembly edition.
