Yes. Compositions must be Theologically Sound (must either stay within the Catholic tradition or be "ecumenical" in approach), Liturgical in Nature (must spring forth from the liturgy, not inserted into it), Musically Proficient (must make sense musically). That being said, all styles and level of musicality are welcome and will have a fair chance at being accepted.
Yes and no. Yes, this is an official publication process in that the composer will have to sign a contract and the composition will be labeled as "published by Simply Liturgical Music, L.L.C." However, the composer keeps ALL rights to his/her composition. SLM can in no way change or modify the composer's compositions. Also, if this composition gets a publication offer from OCP, GIA, or any other reputable liturgical publishing company, SLM will withdraw all rights to the composition.
